"Not only the best legal results, but also the most favorable business outcome."
These guidelines set out Kauttu & Co’s policies regarding service procedures, planning, budgeting, and the billing of legal services. We believe that by establishing guidelines and a strategic plan, we are able to work closely with the client to achieve not only the best legal results, but also the most favorable business outcome.
All services carried out by Kauttu & Co shall be executed in accordance with a written client assignment, and with all due dispatch, care, accuracy, attention, and compliance with the rules on ethics established by the Finnish Bar Association.
Beyond this, Kauttu & Co will follow and respect the client’s operating policy and guidelines for outside corporate counseling. Upon request, a strategic plan, budget and separate billing statement shall be submitted for each project on which we are working. Billing rates specified in the plan and budget may not be increased without prior agreement with the client. Unless approved by the client, we will not seek reimbursement for time spent by more than one attorney attending outside meetings, hearings and the like. Since the client retains outside counsel for their expertise in the areas of law involved in a project, basic research, seminars, or other training are not part of Kauttu & Co’s billing plan.
Since we aim to be flexible, a client’s law department could, therefore, be considered as a part of our working team. Productivity gains can be established where in-house legal staff and outside counsel collaborate together.
Our main office is located in Helsinki, Finland. We can also serve clients through our UK office.
Beyond this, we have direct professional relationships with law firms throughout the Nordic region, across Europe, in the United States and Canada, and in Asia.
Kauttu & Co is also a member of the IR Global (IR); an exclusive group of advisory firms. The IR group is the largest exclusive network of advisory firms in the world. IR has over 750 members in more than 120 countries, and expertise in over 70 sectors and practice areas.
We work in collaboration with the Europartnerships for the purpose of promoting and developing business between the British and Finnish markets.
